Maurice Benard is an American actor best known for playing Michael “Sonny” Corinthos Jr. on the ABC daytime drama General Hospital, a role he began in 1993 and for which he has won three Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He has also become a prominent advocate for bipolar-disorder awareness. [2]
