Michael Costa is an Australian former politician who served in the New South Wales Legislative Council from 2001 to 2008 and was Treasurer of New South Wales from 2006 to 2008. Before entering parliament, he held senior positions in the New South Wales labour movement. [2][3]

Costa served as secretary of the Labor Council of New South Wales from 1998 to 2001. He entered the New South Wales Legislative Council in 2001 and went on to hold several ministerial portfolios. [3][2]

He served as Treasurer from 2006 to 2008 and also held portfolios including Police, Transport Services, Infrastructure and Finance. [2]
