Career and work
Munsch began making up stories while working with children and continued storytelling after moving to Canada and working at the University of Guelph. After being encouraged to submit his stories for publication, Mud Puddle became his first published book. He eventually left his university position to write and tell stories full-time. [1]
His books commonly began as stories told aloud to children, with real children he met often inspiring the characters. His body of work includes The Paper Bag Princess, Love You Forever and dozens of other children’s books. [1][2]
